Nootropics Depot: Are They Really Trustworthy?

Morris Last Updated: March 10, 2020 2

Whether you are an experienced nootropics user or you’re interested in dabbling in the world of cognitive enhancement, you must have heard many positive reviews and recommendations of a particular vendor called Nootropics Depot. But are they as reliable as they seem to be? Let’s dig a little deeper and see!

Nootropics are a relatively small niche market, and if you are looking to buy synthetic nootropics — like adrafinil, phenibut, racetams, etc. — you will only find a handful of small online retailers that sell these substances. Some of those vendors are quite reputable, some are a little shady, and some would not hesitate to take your money and never ship your product or respond to your emails/calls!

So, the following question is perfectly justified and should be the first one you ask about any nootropics vendor you’ve never dealt with before: Are they a legit company or con artists?

Nootropics Depot is a Real Company

Nootropics Depot (ND) was established in 2013 by the company that now runs HR Supplements (aka Hard Rhino). In a couple of years it grew into one of the most reputable suppliers of hard-to-find chemical nootropic compounds. In 2015, the previous owner decided to shut down ND and shift focus toward the production of natural dietary supplements instead.

That wasn’t the end of story for Nootropics Depot though, because shortly after that it was acquired and relaunched by another company called Ceretropic, which currently supplies raw materials to other vendors like nootropics.com.

The current owner of Nootropics Depot, Paul, has been an active member and moderator of the nootropics community on Reddit, who goes by the nickname MisterYouAreSoDumb.

From his many informative contributions to the community, it is obvious that the owner has a personal interest and passion for this industry and not just in it to make a quick buck. Over the past few years, Paul and his team grew this company into what can be fairly claimed to be the #1 online store for all types of nootropic compounds and supplements.

The company is incorporated in Hertfordshire, England, but they ship all orders from their main office located in Tempe, Arizona, USA.

In such a dynamic and risk-ridden industry, many vendors have risen and fallen over the years, but ND managed to survive against all odds and challenges, and have maintained a solid reputation and a loyal customer base.

You won’t find many vendors in this niche that are as transparent, straightforward and dedicated as ND. If they ever go rogue I’d probably lose faith in the whole nootropics industry!

Outstanding Quality Control

Not being regulated by the FDA means that every manufacturer has the responsibility to enforce their own quality standards. In case of ND, they set the bar higher than most, if not all, of their competitors in terms of lab testing and quality assurance.

The company has invested a lot of money in analytical laboratory equipment and they run different chemical tests in their in-house lab to verify the identity and purity of raw materials. Some of their herbal ingredients are sent to a third-party lab to verify the content of active compounds. If you are interested in reading more about their lab testing, check out some of the owner’s posts on the official Reddit page, like this post and this one, where you can find photos of the equipment.

Additionally, because this is one of the top-selling vendors, they replenish their stocks more often than other shops, which means you are more likely to get a fresh product rather than one that has been sitting in a warehouse for a year or more. This is especially true for their top-selling products like phenibut, adrafinil, aniracetam, phenylpiracetam, noopept, and others.

Professional Service

Another thing ND is known for is their professional customer service and fast shipping. Typically, they ship orders the same day if they are placed within business hours.

However, keep in mind that this is a small company run by a few people, so on some busy days things can get overwhelming and they may take some time to process orders and respond to emails. Their website says you should expect a response within 24 business hours, but sometimes it takes them longer to respond.

In case you have any questions or complaints about the product(s) or service you received, you can also take it to their Reddit page and ask the owner or another rep for an explanation, then they’ll have the whole community to answer to.

Not a Scam, But…

While the products themselves are legit with quality and purity held to high standards, you should keep in mind that the claimed benefits of any specific nootropic are mostly based on anecdotal reports rather than solid scientific proof.

Some user-reported benefits may not be more than placebo effects, and some benefits may be overblown by avid proponents of medicinal cognitive enhancement.

As far as Nootropics Depot is concerned, the health claims they make about their natural/herbal supplements are generally reasonable and backed by some scientific research. For synthetic nootropic compounds, the company does not make any specific health claims, because they legally can’t.

Before buying any product, it is first and foremost your job to do a thorough research about its potential benefits, efficacy and safety. For this purpose, I’d recommend you refer to reliable educational resources, such as Examine.com and SelfHacked.com. For more subjective personal experiences, which aren’t always credible, I’d search through some of the active nootropics community websites/forums like Reddit.

Conclusion

For a nootropics supplier where you can find and buy almost any synthetic, natural or herbal cognitive enhancer, Nootropics Depot is as legit and reliable as it gets! They have excellent reputation, quality control, product selection, customer service and community feedback.

To browse their product selection and place an order online, go straight to the official Nootropics Depot website. They ship worldwide with some exceptions for certain products.

      Hello,

Unfortunately I don’t know the specifics of your issue nor can I help with that as I don’t represent or speak for Nootropics Depot, but I don’t quite agree with your assessment.

You said their products are full of fillers… Which products are you referring to and how did you know they are full of fillers (unless those are listed on the label)?

And it’s not true that they only publish good reviews. You can actually find plenty of negative product reviews right on their website.

Their support may be slow to respond to emails, but I stand by what I said in the post above that ND is one of the most reliable companies selling nootropics, and many of their customers attest to this.

I suggest you post your issue on their Reddit page or message one of their mods there, including the owner of the company.
